We have a fantastic new opportunity within our Safety, Security & Sustainability team for a Safety & Compliance Training Manager. Although the position will be based at Stratford / Shenfield, the role will involve both a combination of office working, when required by the business and also the flexibility to work remotely from home.  This is subject to workload and business needs/commitments. This position will require travel across the Greater Anglia region.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Safety, Security and Sustainability you will liaise closely with key department heads to design and deliver the mandatory health, safety and environmental training to ensure that Greater Anglia meets its statutory needs and business objectives, and as well as designing and delivering bespoke training, you will also oversee the management and delivery of our in house IOSH accredited training material (Working safely and Managing Safely).

The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring suitable training records are maintained and providing management reports on the status of training delivery to the senior leadership team.

A key member of team who will be able to gain insights of emerging risks and findings from incidnets, and turn these into opportunities to share good practice and learning through the training that they deliver.

What we are looking for

You will be an occupationally competent Safety and environmental practitioner and an experienced trainer with the ability to design and deliver quality training material in a thought provoking and engaging way.

Excellent inter-personal and communication skills are essential within this role.

As well as being an effective team player, you will have a collaborative style of working with the willingness to challenge in collegiate style, and the ability to listen.

The ideal candidate will hold / demonstrate:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health level 3 or equivalent.
  • NEBOSH Environmental Management level 3 or equivalent.
  • Member of an appropriate safety and environment professional body– maintenance of CPD.
  • Knowledge and experience of the rail industry - beneficial, or experience in a similar industry.
  • Relevant Trainer qualification level 3+ (PTTLS, CIPD, GTC, CTP, TAP or equivalent).
  • Innovative facilitator; able to apply accelerated learning, making training engaging and interactive. for the audience/learner with creative design skills incorporating blended learning
