Be part of something rewarding, by joining Greater Anglia you’ll be helping our customers get from A to B. With a staff of over 2,500, we operate a busy commuter service from London Liverpool Street to destinations across the east of England.
Control Manager
Here at Greater Anglia we’re embarking on the largest investment in new trains the East Anglia region has ever seen. But the new trains by themselves won’t transform our railway – and that’s where you come in.
Main Duties:
You will be responsible for overseeing service delivery activities, competency assessments and control performance budgets, as well as monitoring rosters and sickness levels.
You will be responsible for the delivery of the safe operation of the GA train service through leading effective management processes in the AICC for the benefit of the passenger experience, ensuring that we aim to ‘Make Life a Little Easier’ every day by delivering a safe, punctual railway.
You will lead and motivate a team on shift to meet rigorous service delivery targets and liaise at all levels across the business on issues related to train service delivery and operational performance. You will also be expected to work jointly with Network Rail and other train operating companies to the benefit of industry customers.
What we are looking for:
We’re looking for proactive individuals who want to stretch themselves with a new challenge leading the GA Control team within the Anglia Integrated Control Centre (AICC) on a day to day basis.
A good standard of general education and IT literate, in particular of Control IT systems. Experience of managing teams and individuals, and of improving their performance. Be customer focused and have an understanding of information requirements, particularly during periods of service disruption. Well organised and able to prioritise workloads, with the ability to cope well with pressure and the requirement to make decisions quickly.
An understanding of the nature of GA operations, the geography we serve, the fleets we operate and the infrastructure we run over. Understanding of the Franchise Agreement, its obligations and key deliverables.
Have an understanding of the Rail industry performance management processes and working knowledge of the Railway Operating Code service recovery and contingency planning processes.
To succeed in this role, we are looking for people who can bring our four behaviours to life in your everyday work:
· Genuine … be welcoming, customer-centric and respectful
· Professional… be solution-oriented, accountable and delivering to promises
· Proactive … be progressive, innovative and decisive
· Inclusive … be connected in your thinking, empathetic and promote diversity
Greater Anglia can offer you a great work/ life balance alongside a generous salary. If learning, developing and growing your career is as important as great benefits such as free travel, pension, family discounts, childcare vouchers and cycle to work scheme, then apply now, and see what we can do for you!
