We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer (Traction Power) to join our team.
This role will support the Materials Manager and Materials Team in undertaking investigations into material availability, obsolescence issues and providing technical support as directed. You will take ownership of the SOROS Knowledge Base for their relevant systems, updating the knowledge base following incident and failure reviews and service experience.
Central to this position will be to review technical standards, procedures, documents and drawings compliance against industry and local standards. Produce technical documents for local use. In addition conduct tests and trials on units/trains on behalf of the Systems Engineering Manager, Technical Support Manager and Engineering Technical Manager including participating in test journeys, as directed
You will Act as technical lead with the appointed rolling stock leasing company, and attend investigations on system or component warranty matters, ensuring root causes of failure are understood. Identify technical solutions and opportunities for improving T&RS performance. Identify mitigations while permanent solutions are being developed related to assigned fleet.
Show initiative by investigating new and emerging technologies for system improvement or maintenance betterment, analysing available safety and performance related data to establish underlying trend and action plan and attend industry working groups and support standards forums
You will an Egineering qualification and have excellent interpersonal skills with the confidence to influence all internal stakeholders and external bodies
