We have an exciting opportunity to join our Finance Team as a Finance Business Partner.  The position is based at our offices in Stratford, but the role will involve both a combination of office working, when required by the business and also the flexibility to work remotely from home.  This is subject to workload and business needs/commitments.

This is a permanent position and will report into the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis.

The Role

The purpose of the role is to critically analyse and report on the current and future financial performance of specific directorate(s), thereby ensuring a sound basis for management control and decision making in that area.  You will be the key focal point to provide assistance, guidance and robust challenge to the director and their management team.  Where applicable, you will also lead the financial inputs of business cases for the business area, ensure governance is followed and monitor the financial progress of delivery.

Responsibilities include the preparation of periodic reporting against budget/forecast with clear and concise commentary, which proactively identifies the key risks and opportunities.  You will engage directly with key stakeholders, in particular Heads of Department, and other budget holders to deliver outputs in an engaging, and impactful way.  You will also provide financial input into key areas of the business and strategic planning processes.

On a day-to-day basis, the Finance Business Partner will use their experience and technical accounting knowledge to support the delivery of a full range of management accounting activities including budgets, forecasting and management information.

Within this role, you will represent Finance at key departmental meetings, ensuring that financial issues are clearly communicated and understood.  You will ensure risks & opportunities are effectively managed and profiled appropriately to improve the accuracy of forecasting/planning.

What we are looking for

We are looking for an individual who has an accounting qualification (ACCA or equivalent).

The successful colleague should have practical management accounting experience, as well as excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.

The applicant must also be comfortable challenging accepted norms and look to continuously improve existing processes.

The successful candidate will possess outstanding communication, stakeholder management and collaboration skills alongside the ability to influence at all levels of the business.
