An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Safety, Security and Sustainability department for a Safeguarding and Trespass Prevention Lead. This is a permanent position based at Shenfield.

The Role

As a Safeguarding and Trespass Prevention Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring that our policies and processes for safeguarding, suicide prevention, and trespass reduction are robust and incorporate best practice to ensure that we can continue to deliver a safe railway. The key responsibility will be to gain and maintain accreditation within the Rail Industry Safeguarding for Rail Scheme.

Duties will include ensuring that Greater Anglia implements effective plans and processes for suicide prevention, vulnerability, and safeguarding activities within the company. 

Within this role, you will provide suicide prevention and safeguarding advice and guidance to Greater Anglia colleagues and represent the Company at Industry and external meetings connected with the role. 
Duties also involve working with partners inside and outside the industry to reduce incidents of trespass occurring on the Greater Anglia Network. 

You will work closely with:

Local Authorities, Government departments, British Transport Police, Emergency Services, Charities, and Network Rail on suicide prevention, safeguarding and vulnerability matters.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a colleague who is practical and self-motivated with a keen eye for detail and naturally driven to work with accuracy.

The successful colleague will be a good communicator (both written and oral), show initiative, demonstrate influencing skills and be proficient in MS office.

Some experience in the field would be advantageous, along with knowledge of the railway industry, however most importantly you will have a passion for the subject and a real commitment to providing a safe environment to everyone who travels and interacts with our network.
