We have an exciting opportunity to join our Customer Service Team at Shenfield Station as a Platform Host (Train Dispatcher)

The Role

The purpose of the role is to always provide a safe environment whilst delivering excellent customer service and seeking opportunities to enhance the customer experience at the station. You must ensure that customers are extended a welcome at the station, providing pro-active assistance and information to customers on and off trains.

You will be responsible for the safe and punctual dispatch of trains and work in accordance of the rule book and operational standards and will also be required to provide excellent customer service whilst working in a fast pace environment.

Responsibilities include the day-to-day operation of the platform, assisting customers with their travel needs, helping mobility impaired customers have a smooth journey, dealing with disruption, dispatching trains, and liaising with Drivers and Conductors to offer great service.  Complying with safety regulations, reporting faults and hazards, and liaising with other areas of the business when required.

So, you will need to be an enthusiastic and motivated individual who takes pride in their work, and themselves, who has a great level of awareness for Safety, customer service focused, friendly and approachable with the ability to work within a team.

Full uniform will be provided, ensuring that your standard of appearance complies with the company standard.  The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a busy environment, within a multi-faceted role.  You should be operationally performance and customer focussed to join a fast-paced station and train operator that is transforming with a whole new fleet of trains being introduced.

This position will involve full flexibility in your approach to work including, early, late and night shifts and weekend working

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are crucial to this role. This role will require you to remain calm under pressure and show integrity. You must be flexible and adaptable to change.

The successful applicant will be required to attend a medical, as all offers are subject to passing a safety critical medical.
