Systems Assurance Manager
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Safety, Security and Sustainability department for a Systems Assurance Manager. The post holder will provide support to the Head of Risk and Assurance with safety, security and sustainability risk management.
Role and Responsibility:
The role requires the undertaking and supporting of independent assurance activities relating to risk management across the business, ensuring the management system requirements are adhered to. This will involve assisting with the delivery of the corporate safety and environmental and security audit programme in accordance with company requirements and monitoring corrective actions arising from audits and assurance activities until satisfactory close out has been reached.
You will assist and lead in incident / accident investigations as required, provide assurance that post incident recommendations and non-conformities arising from audits have been followed through to closure and providing safety, environment and security guidance and support to all locations operated as part of the franchise as well as reviewing legislation, industry documentation and health and safety guidance.
Experience, skills and Qualifications required:
The ideal candidate would hold the NEBOSH general certificate in occupational health and safety along with a recognised environmental qualification with a background in a recognised health and safety / environment position and hold a recognised audit qualification and be competent to undertake accident / incident investigations. The post-holder should have a willingness to learn, challenge the norm and possess an eye for detail and would be key attributes as well as the ability to work autonomously as well as within a team.
Understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to the rail industry would be desirable.
