Contractor Controller

We are looking for a Contractor Controller to join the team at Norwich Crown Point Depot on a 2 year Fixed Term Contract basis.

Role and Accountability

The Contractor Controller is responsible for controlling all contractors wishing to undertake work on Norwich Crown Point Depot to ensure that their systems for the management of safety are suitable and that all work is undertaken in a safe manner in compliance with local/company procedures and current UK legislation. For approving all works and issuing of security badges/permits, performing ongoing monitoring the contractor’s application of their safe system and continued compliance whilst on site. Act as the total Depot interface working collaboratively with all Depot stakeholders to ensure the business needs and projects needs are met in the most efficient manner.

Experience, knowledge and Qualifications Required

You will have experience managing large and varied contractor teams ideally within a rail industry setting. You will have experience conducting regular contractor compliance checks of all contractors on site, and be comfortable liaising with multiple internal and external stakeholders including ROSCO’s and Network Rail. You will have experience in the issuing and controlling of contractors’ ID security badges and ID tags and associated administration. Strong IT skills are essential for this role and you must be comfortable using the full MS suite of applications, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
