Shift Production Manager - FTC

We are looking for a Shift Production Managers to join our Engineering team at Norwich Crown Point Depot on a Fixed Term Contract.

Role and Accountability:

You will ensure that the planned and unscheduled fleet maintenance requirements at Norwich Crown Point Engineering Depot are managed to safely support the production plan, service availability and reliability of trains for service .This role also provides strong leadership and management of the servicing teams to ensure the production plan is being effectively carried out and liaise with all areas of production to ensure the business deliver the right train, at the right time, at the right place with the right quality and cost.

Plan, lead and control operations to deliver production plans and direct the servicing and maintenance of rolling stock to meet agreed standards and targets. Maximise depot-operating efficiencies and ensure that the teams work efficiently, focus on the correct priorities and collaborates constructively. Carry out technical, quality, and safety and general briefings as necessary.

Through direct coaching, ensure allocated staff are trained and developed in accordance with GA development of people policies. Line management of team including recruitment, development, performance management and exits.

Experience, knowledge and Qualifications Required:

Experience managing a medium - large team, and in a production environment for delivery of a quality service. Engineering experience and knowledge to underpin decision making. Have the ability to look for performance opportunities to simplify and streamline the business.

The successful candidate will be an experienced production manager with a minimum of 3 years holding the post. Minimum of NVQ level 3 in an engineering discipline and/or an engineering apprenticeship. You will have experience managing teams of technicians and team leaders and delivering all aspects of direct people management. A positive, can do attitude is a must.
